Are you overwhelmed by the selection of digital cameras that Canon is offering?
This Canon Digital Camera Reviews page will guide you to select the right Canon digital camera.
Canon digital cameras are excellent products at very competitive prices. 80% of professionals photographers are using Canon products, they must be doing something right!
I will be reviewing what I think are the best Canon digital cameras at the moment. Hopefully, it will be helpful in your process of getting a digital camera.
In this page I have reviewed the following models:
Please keep in mind that I will not review all Canon digital cameras. As I am building this site more as a hobby, I review only the models that I consider the best ones.
Can be tricky to find comfortable grip for your left hand when holding the camera
No LCD automatic brightness control
The Canon S1 IS is a surprisingly small digital camera with a busy exterior. I like
the way that there is a button for almost every function on almost every surface of the camera. Some people might find it to "busy".
The 18 controls are evenly spaced and big enough not to be fiddly. The IS (meaning Image Stabilisation) is shake reduction but not always elimination.
Canon digital camera reviews verdict: If you can live without super high resolution, the PowerShot S1 IS is a digital camera up to the Canon standards. You will enjoy the powerful and quiet 10X optical zoom and great quality images.
On the negative side, it is an expensive digital camera for a 3 megapixel and a better battery would have been great.

Zero scene modes on this camera and two manual controls
Recording time limits in movie mode
Battery life is only average
Canon Digital Camera Reviews Verdict:
Even if the Canon S410 lacks the manual controls as well as the scene modes and the high-res video capture that some of its competitors offer, it has enough shooting options to please anyone who just want an ultra compact quality image digital camera.
Very similar to the PowerShot S400 model, the main the feature of the PowerShot S410 is the Print & Share button for easy direct printing.
I love that feature because I print lots of my pictures myself, if you don’t you should get the PowerShot S400 for probably less money.

Strong set of features and excellent photo quality
Good traditional design
Great value for money
Canon digital camera reviews - Cons
Slow start-up
LCD screen could have been bigger
Canon Digital Camera Reviews Verdict: The Canon A95 contains almost everything a snapper could want from a digital camera.
The A95 doesn't have a lot of wasted features on it to just make it look better like the more expensive ones do. This is a Top of the line digital camera.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Some people might find it difficult to hold with two hands
Lens cap falls off too easy
No rechargeable batteries/charger included, you'll definitely want to purchase spare batteries
Plastic tripod socket (was metal on the S1 IS)
Canon digital camera reviews - Final Word
An excellent digital camera, Canon is spot on with all the improvement from its predecessor. Picture quality is better, you get more megapixel, you get a sensational 12x optical zoom and the image stabilizer makes it pleasant to use.
Not too heavy, I really like the shape even if some people have complained about the difficulty to hold the camera, I don't find any problem at all with holding it.
Canon Digital Camera Reviews Verdict: The entire Canon's ELPH line of digital cameras has consistently offered quality, user-friendly design, and
excellent build quality. The new Canon PowerShot SD500 is no exception.
I really like the Canon PowerShot SD500's external design; it's small without being unwieldy and feels solid and small enough to fit in your pocket. The 2 inch LCD screen is also a good characteristic.
If you are after a digital camera with manual features then look for a different model, the SD 500 doesn’t offer manual features such as shutter- and aperture-priority modes.
I purchased this camera for my wife as a birthday present. She really enjoys it. Because it fits easily in her handbag, she always has her SD500 handy. As she doesn’t use manual features, this digital was perfect for her to always get quality pictures and the 7 megapixel is great for large prints.

Power locking is not great, the cameras sometimes turn itself on when taken out of the bag, very annoying
LCD screen switched off when using high speed mode
Movie mode limited to 30 secs, 10 frames/sec at highest resolution
The Canon G6 looks and feels like a traditional camera, bulky but
comfortable to use. If you are looking to take your hobby to the next level or an alternative to SLR camera, you should go for the G6.
I am surprised that Canon's Print/Share blue button is missing, I found that feature very handy to quickly print pictures with my printer. Although the G6's support for the PictBridge
standard that lets you print directly to a compatible printer.
The G6 uses an upgraded rechargeable lithium ion battery. It's the same size as the one in the G5, but Canon says it will last 26 percent longer, another great feature of the G6.
Canon digital camera reviews verdict: I still own my “old” PowerShot G3 because I just love the features and the feel of the camera. Canon didn’t really improve the G3 with the PowerShot G5 but with the G6 they are spot on!
One major improvement is that you no longer see the zoom barrel through the viewfinder (which is the case with the G3 & G5).
I wish the Canon G6 had the 10x optical zoom of the Powershot S1 IS, but regardless of the zoom at around $550.00 you won’t be disappointed if you want to take your hobby to the next level without spending the money for a SLR camera.
Canon digital camera reviews verdict:
If you are after a wideangle lenses digital camera you need to consider the Canon S70 in your selection. This 7 megapixel Canon digital camera is not an ultra compact camera but has a wide and thick flat body.
The S range of Canon Powershots will not attract the “serious” photographers like the G range but they have been getting better and better.
One advantage of wideangle lenses digital camera is that you can always crop in on shots to get a greater telephoto look. Wideangle lenses make you more creative when taking shots.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced digital photographer the Canon S70 is a very good choice. For the beginner, plenty of automation and programmed functions to start using your cameras and get great results right from the beginning. For the more experienced photographer the Canon S70 offers a plenty of controls including RAW format to extend your capabilities.
The Canon S70 would be a great digital camera for someone in the real estate business that needs to take interior shots.
