Nikon Coolpix
P1 Review
Nikon Coolpix P1 ReviewThe Nikon Coolpix P1 is a portable and compact digital camera. It is also one of the smallest but not the thinnest digital cameras currently on the market. Slightly taller than a credit card (just about as wide), and a little under an inch and a half thick, the Nikon Coolpix P1 is designed to fit nicely into shirt pockets and small purses, perfect digital camera for travelers or someone that likes having their camera all the time without having to worried about carrying something too heavy (weighing just 6.4 ounces or 181 grams with the battery and memory card loaded). The Nikon P1 produces great quality pictures, easy to use with enough feature to satisfy the whole family.
Wireless FeatureYou might consider the compact Nikon Coolpix P1 for its novel built-in Wi-Fi transmitter. You will find that its wireless capabilities are limited compared with those of other consumer Wi-Fi cameras, such as the Kodak EasyShare One and the Canon PowerShot SD430. Unlike the Kodak EasyShare One and the Canon PowerShot 430, the P1's wireless adapter is integrated within the camera body. It's also Wireless G (rather than Wireless B like Kodak), so connecting it to a wireless network won't degrade network performance. Basically, this Wi-Fi capabilities means that you can transfer pictures to a nearby computer or printer without any cables. At this point, I think it is faster and less complicated using a USB cable. It’s good features for someone who like new “gadgets”! This technology will get better and better in no time. Don't buy this digital camera only because of the Wi-Fi features. Nikon Coolpix P1 Review – Final Word
Don’t buy the Nikon P1 only because of the Wi-Fi feature. I know Nikon highly publicized it but this is not the best feature of this digital camera.
Image quality, great 2.5 inch LCD screen, very compact camera and easy to use, 8 megapixel, this is what this camera is really about. If you are after a compact digital camera that will deliver quality picture you won’t be disappointed.
You also get the Nikon quality.

Nikon Coolpix P1 Review – Memory
Most digital cameras come with very low capacity memory cards and the Coolpix P1 is no exception. A 32 MB SD memory card is included in the box when you purchase the P1.
There is no fixed rule for the number of photos you can put on one card because different image file types, different amounts of compression, and image content all affect the size of each file.
As a general rule, I'd recommend at least 256 megabytes or two 128 megabyte cards if you're buying a 3-5 megapixels compact digital camera.
With the Coolpix P1 and the 8 megapixel, get at least a 512 memory card, there are so cheap now and it’s much nicer to know you don’t have to worried about memory space when taking pictures.

With the 32 MB memory card included with the Nikon P1, you will take approximately 5 pictures before having to empty the memory card! You must include in your budget the cost for another memory card.
The type of memory card for the Nikon Coolpix P1 is SD memory card.
