Kodak LS753 Review

Kodak LS753 Review

The Kodak LS753 is only $50 more expansive than the 4 megapixel LS743 and I think you
should spend the extra money if you are seriously looking at the LS743. You get more megapixel and four additional scene modes.

The Kodak LS753 is a high resolution point-and-shoot model with few overrides. It has no aperture priority or shutter priority modes. This camera is also an upgrade from the similar but slightly cheaper Kodak CX7530.

Modes include Auto, Portrait, Self-Portrait, Night Portrait, Close-Up, Landscape, Night Landscape, Sport, Snow, Beach, Party, Fireworks, Backlight, Children, Flower, and a "politeness" mode labelled Museum/Manner that deactivates the flash and camera sounds in environments where flash photography is prohibited.

Solid and compact body that fits well in your pocket, with its elongated layout, the LS753 fits two hands better than one. Battery life better than average, the LS753 and is also very easy to use.

Kodak LS753 Review - Pros

  • Compact, stylish body
  • Excellent macro capabilities
  • Easy operation
  • Excellent battery life
  • Kodak easy share button

Kodak LS753 Review - Cons

  • Limited zoom range
  • No aperture priority or shutter priority modes
  • Doesn’t support PictBridge standard
  • Not really a bad thing but I just don’t like the glowing power blue light when the camera is switched on

Kodak LS753 Review – Final Word

The Kodak LS753 is a good choice if you are looking for a compact, high resolution point-and-shoot camera. Not for someone who wants to take digital photography to the next level, enthusiasts will want more, but the average shooter will be very happy with this digital camera.

The EasyShare system lets you tag photos for printing, e-mailing, or organizing right on the camera.

I recommend the Kodak LS753 for a beginner who wants a quality camera really easy to use.

Kodak LS753 Review – Memory

Most digital cameras come with very low capacity memory cards and the Kodak LS753 is no exception. A 32 SD/MMC memory card is included in the box when you purchase the LS753.

There is no fixed rule for the number of photos you can put on one card because different image file types, different amounts of compression, and image content all affect the size of each file.

As a general rule, I'd recommend at least 256 megabytes or two 128 megabyte cards if you're buying a 3-5 megapixel compact digital camera. But 512 megabytes would be a good size for 6 megapixel digital camera such as the Kodak LS753.

If you want to shoot lots of high resolution TIFF or RAW files, then you'll probably want to look at 512 megabyte and 1 gigabyte cards. It's also a good idea to not save all of your photos on one card.

Click here for more information on memory cards.

With the 32 MB memory card included with the LS753, you will take approximately 25 pictures before having to empty the memory card! Budgeting for a memory card is a must.

Another good reason to get several memory cards is there's always the possibility that cards can get corrupted, lost, or stolen. Using more than one and switching during a shoot protects your valuable photographic data.

The type of memory card for the Kodak LS753 is SD or MMC.
